Description
Gertie Marx atraumatic needles used in Myelograms and Lumbar Punctures have been shown to result in fewer post-dural puncture headaches than when a cutting needle was used in Lumbar Punctures and Myelograms. Consequently this equates to lower costs associated with blood injections and medication used to treat PDPH. The lumbar puncture hole made with a Gertie Marx pencil-point needle has been attributed to less CSF leaks which leads to fewer instances of additional side-effects sometimes seen along with PDPH, such as nausea, cranial nerve palsies, vomiting, paresthesias, neck pain, limb pain and photophobia.
